Sensory & Physical Rehabilitation Service Line

The Sensory and Physical Rehabilitation (SPR) Service Line provides Rehabilitation Services and Prosthetics and Sensory Aids to veterans to maximize their well-being and independence. The service line is made up of four programs:

• Audiology & Speech Pathology;
• Blind Rehabilitation;
• Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; and
• Prosthetics and Sensory Aids.

These programs are designed to assist patients in achieving their highest level of functioning possible.

All sections of SPR are available at all medical centers. There is a major referral center in Connecticut for Blind Rehabilitation and Audiology. There is also a major referral center at Boston for Prosthetics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Audiology.
